Arlington Antebellum Home and Garden is a terrific decorative arts museum featuring a fine collection of 19th century furniture, textiles, silver and paintings. The home, built by one of Birmingham’s founders, exhibits Greek Revival architecture from the early 19th century and offers beautiful gardens and a restored garden tearoom for weddings and special events. Said to be the site where Union troops planned the burning of the University of Alabama, the home offers an intriguing history along with its grand beauty. It lies a mile and a half west of downtown Birmingham, just south of McLendor Park.

Open Tue. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Sun. 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
